Civic Resources

The town of Barre offers many civic resources, including:

  • Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC), your community medical center, includes Woodridge Nursing Home, the National Life Cancer Treatment Center and medical group practices. They are the primary care center for all of Central Vermont and are committed to providing excellent care to central Vermonters.  Central Vermont Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

There are several different types of counseling services offered in the Barre area to meet resident needs.

There are many programs to help Vermonters find employment and develop careers.  They include the Workforce Investment Act(WIA), Vermont Training Program, Vermont Employee Growth Incentive(VEGI), Department of Labor Workforce Education and Training (WET) Grant Funds
